# TV Dashboard

The TV Dashboard is a read-only, full-screen view of your team's flight board designed for office TVs, wall displays, and war room monitors. It shows the same airport board your team uses every day - without requiring anyone to sign in.

## How It Works

Team admins generate a shareable token URL in Settings. That URL can be opened on any device - a smart TV, a Raspberry Pi, a tablet mounted on the wall - and it will display a live view of the team's flight board. The board auto-refreshes every 30 seconds, so it always reflects the current state of your flights without anyone needing to touch it.

The TV view shows the full airport board: In Flight, Takeoff Runway, Emergency Landing, Landing Runway, and the Crew Status section. It uses a dark theme optimised for screens in bright office environments.

## Generating a Token

To create a TV dashboard link, go to **Settings**, select your team, and open the **TV Tokens** section. Click **Create Token** to generate a new link. You can optionally give it a label (e.g. "Office TV", "War Room") and set an expiry date.

Once created, use the copy button to grab the URL and paste it into your TV's browser. Each token generates a unique URL in the format `/tv/your-token-here`.

## Security Considerations

TV tokens grant **public read access** to your team's flight board. Anyone with the link can see flight names, crew assignments, crate details, and team member names - without signing in. Treat these links like you would treat any shared credential.

To minimise risk:

- **Set an expiry date.** Tokens without an expiry last indefinitely. Setting an expiry means a leaked link stops working automatically after a set period.
- **Revoke tokens you no longer need.** If a TV is decommissioned, a monitor moves to a public area, or a link was shared more broadly than intended, revoke the token immediately from the TV Tokens settings page.
- **Use labels to track where tokens are used.** Labelling tokens makes it easy to identify which one powers which display, so you can revoke the right one when needed.

## What the TV Shows

The TV dashboard displays:

- All flights in **takeoff**, **active**, **emergency**, and **landed** status
- Crew assignments and captain for each flight
- Crate progress per flight
- Crew status - who is in flight, off duty, or on ground mechanics
- Flight type badges (if enabled for your team)

Archived and canceled flights are not shown on the TV view - it focuses on what is current and actionable.

## Managing Tokens

You can create multiple tokens per team. This is useful if you have several displays or want separate tokens for different locations so you can revoke them independently.

The TV Tokens settings page shows all active tokens with their label, creation date, and expiry. From there you can copy the URL or revoke any token. Revoking a token is immediate - the TV screen will show an error on its next refresh.

Only team admins can create, view, and revoke TV tokens. Regular team members do not have access to the TV Tokens settings section.
